AFD Postcode uses United Kingdom’s Royal Mail PAF data to offer you a complete database with all the addresses in the UK, which can be retrieved just by entering the corresponding postcode, even when this not complete. This tool produces accurate postal addresses and their corresponding barcodes (when applicable) and gives you extra information about the occupancy and address type.
The program can be integrated as an add-on in other applications, regardless of what they are or what they do, so that every time a postcode is typed in or appears in a text, the program will automatically recognize it and will prompt you with all the information you need to build the postal address it belongs to. AFD Postcode comes with a simple interface that lets you use it also as a stand-alone program. Here, you have direct access to the address database, so you can easily use it as an external tool to retrieve extensive information about a specific location. This information adds to the traditional street, locality, town, and county data the mail sort code, the type of postcode (large or small user), the STD code, basic censation data, and the type of property associated to a given postcode (residential, organization, etc.). The program generates full postal addresses that you can copy and paste into whatever application you use for your bulk mailing tasks.
An interesting extra feature available with the Windows stand-alone version of the program is a 1:200,000 scale map that shows you the exact location of the address in question.
